Location Gulf Place on scenic Hwy 30A

The SunDancer Adventure Triathlon/Biathlon will begin and end at Gulf Place on Hwy 30A in the Beaches of South Walton. These adventures races are for families out to have some fun, as well as serious competitors. Adventure racing has mystery events along the way that provide mental and physical challenges to be completed before going to the next segment of the race.TriathlonThis unique and challenging race consists of Individual or Relay Teams of 2-person or 4-person, competing:

-9 mile Mountain Bike through the forest of Long Leaf Pine trail and Grayton Beach State Park

-1.5 mile Kayak on costal dune Western Lake 

-5.5 mile Run both on scenic Hwy 30A and along the beautiful Emerald Coast shoreline.Divisions

Directions:

From Panama City head west on Hwy 98, after you pass Hwy 331 the next light will be CR 393 turn left heading south until you deadend into Hwy 30A. Gulf Place is on your right.
From Pensacola / Destin - head east on Hwy 98 passing Sandestin and the light at Hwy 30A. Next light turn right onto CR393 heading south until you deadend into Hwy 30A. Gulf Place in on your right.

Competitive - race regularly or serious competitors

Corporate - represent your company

Weekend Warrior - just out for fun 

Individual or Relay Teams of 2 or 4 persons 

Male/Female/Co-ed (at least one member of the opposite sex)

Relay Teams

-2 person - one person bikes and kayaks, the other kayaks and runs (Tandem Kayaks)

-4 person - one person bikes, two people kayak, and the fourth person runs (Tandem Kayaks)

Biathlon - Individuals only

2.5 mile Mountain Bike through the forest of Long Leaf Pine trail

2 mile Run both on scenic Hwy 30A and last half mile along the beautiful Emerald Coast shoreline

Event Activities include

Health and Eco fair – Fitness/Nature/Eco-tourism

Kid's Zone - Games / Crafts

Silent Auction - Weekend getaways / Bike/etc.

Pre-race Meeting - Food/Fun/Information

Live Music - Local artist Reed Waddle

Mystery Events Physical and mental challenges are presented along the racethat have to be completed before advancing to the next segment of the race.  

Pre Race Meeting & Packet Pick up

Friday, October 5th from 5-7:30pm at Gulf Place amphitheatre. Enjoy delicious hors d'oeuvres and refreshments as you receive important race details and pick up your race packets. At least one member of your team must attend. Race meeting 6:15pm, volunteer meeting 7pm.


Equipment

Kayaks paddles and lifejackets are provided. Helmets are required on the bike. Bikes can be rented at Big Daddy's at a reduced rate if you mention the Adventure Triathlon. Footwear is recommended in kayak.


Awards

Awards in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for Overall and each division


Charity

This year we will be working with two charities.

The Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge's mission is to Rescue, Rehabilitate and Release injured and orphaned animals in our community. ECWR is designed to have a positive influence on the community by promoting public awareness and education on wildlife and environmental issues. For more information visit www.ecwildliferefuge.com

Local school systems will have an opportunity to receive 50% of our action by providing the most participation through volunteers, sponsors, and race participants.


Live Music

T-shirts, race packet, food, a chance to win door prizes, and an opportunity to participate in the silent auction. 


Auction

An array of exciting items to bid on like vacation packages, mountain bike, dinners. and much more The auction will begin at the pre-race party and end race day.
